Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch 
  • 2 teaspoons water 
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice 
  • 3/4 cup honey 
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce 
  • 1/3 cup Sriracha sauce 
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil 
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger 
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced 
  • 2kg chicken wings, split at joints, tips removed 
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions (for garnish) 
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds (for garnish) 

Method:

  1. In the slow cooker pot, mix the cornflour and lime juice until dissolved.
  2. Add the honey, soy sauce, Sriracha sauce, sesame oil, ginger and garlic to the pot. Stir well to combine. 
  3. Add the chicken wings to the pot and stir until they are well coated with the sauce. 
  4. Cook on HIGH for 2 hours or on LOW for 4 hours and remove the wings from the pot and place them on a foil-lined baking tray. 
  5. Transfer the remaining sauce to a saucepan and cook over medium heat until thickened. 
  6. Brush the thickened sauce over the wings and grill them for 15 mins or until they are crispy. 
  7. Before serving, sprinkle the wings with the finely chopped spring onions and sesame seeds.
